Ms Nabila Arif graduated from the Institute of Business Administration, University of Karachi, in December 1988. The Institute of Business Administration (IBA), the oldest graduate business school in Pakistan, was established in April 1955 in collaboration with the Wharton School of Finance and Commerce, University of Pennsylvania. Later, it was associated with the University of South California. The UNCTAD/GATT International Trade Center, Geneva, has selected IBA as a Center of Excellence for training Pakistani exporters.
She has a rich teaching experience of 20 years in Pakistan, UAE and Canada.
She joined IBA as a Lecturer of Accounting and Finance in 1989. In 1992 she was assigned the role of a student’s counselor where she was responsible for:
- Handling of student affairs relating to scholarship applications
- Students' council elections
- Secretary selection
- Seminar organization
- Coordination of the Stock Exchange Learning Fund.
In 1995 she was promoted to the position of Assistant Professor, Accounting and Finance.
In 1999 because of family commitments she moved to Dubai. Here she was appointed as Head of the department of Business at Dubai Gems Private School.
She later moved to Canada in 2003 where she was employed with the two renowned community colleges. She worked for Seneca College from 2004-2005 and then Humber college from 2005-2008.
Along with teaching at these colleges she had the privilege to manage her own business.
The Oxford Learning Centre is a franchised learning support programme that enhances learning strategies for individuals. Here she managed and coordinated the activities of the Centre. She is also certified to conduct academic and cognitive assessments for students being inducted into the programme.
Ms Nabila Arif is married and has 2 children. Her hobbies include reading, listening to music and cooking.
